About
The Florida State University Triathlon Club was born in the Spring of 2006 and is currently run by nine officers. Ever since the club first started it has grown beyond expectations. We now have over 60 active members, half of whom compete on a regular basis. Our club members range in different levels of expertise. We have members who have never raced in a triathlon to members who have done multiple ironmans. The club has gone from having no sponsorships to having multiple sponsorships within a span of less than three years.
During the fall and spring semester we offer various workouts throughout the week. The workouts are run by the current officers and they offer workouts for all levels. They also work and offer advice to each individual and help them excel in that area as much as they can. The officers know a lot about the area that they are coaching.
Our racing season is year round, but we mainly race during the spring in the southeastern part of the United States. We race in all levels of triathlons, whether it be a sprint, Olympic, half-ironman, or the full ironman you will generally see someone with an FSU triathlon jersey at each of these races. As a club we have raced in two Collegiate National Championship Races, both of which have been in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on the campus of the Crimson Tide. We sent around 15 athletes both years and they did exceptionally well.
We are also very active in the community. The club does two community service events a semester. We have volunteered at the Tallahassee Marathon, Special Olympics, different varieties of 5k’s, and some ironmans.
As the years pass by, and the officers change positions, the FSU Triathlon Club will continue to grow and will set its sights on endless possibilities for the future.
We are the Florida State University Triathlon Club. Go Noles!
